The statement below gives you an overview of how we ensure this protection and which kinds of data are collected for which purposes.

Several components of our Internet sites use “cookies.” These cookies help to make our site more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and stored by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are “session” cookies. They are automatically erased after your visit ends. Cookies do not do any harm to your computer and do not contain viruses.
3. Data collection through Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a Web analytics service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files that are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the United States, where it is stored. In the event that IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will, however, shorten your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other states that are signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) beforehand. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the United States and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website, compile reports on activity on the website, and perform further services for the website operator associated with the use of the website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being saved by adjusting the settings of your browser software accordingly; we do, however, point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website in full. You can also prevent the information generated by the cookie with regard to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and provided to Google and from being processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
You can also prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics by clicking the link below. This will place an opt-out cookie on your computer that prevents your data from being collected when you visit this website in the future:
4. Use of social media plugins
a) We currently use the following social media plugins: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Xing, T3N, LinkedIn, and Flattr. We use the “two-click solution.” This means that when you visit our site, personal data are initially not disclosed to the providers of these plugins as a basic principle. You can see who the provider of the plugin is from the marking on the grayed-out box based on the first letter of the name. Only if you click one of the plugins will personal data be transmitted. When you activate the plugin, data are automatically transmitted to the relevant plugin provider and stored there (in the case of U.S.-based providers, in the United States). We have no influence over the data that are collected or the data processing process, nor do we know the full extent or purposes of data collection or the time limits for which data are stored. Since the plugin provider collects data through cookies in particular, we recommend that you clear all cookies via your browser’s security settings before clicking on the grayed-out box.
b) When you activate a plugin, the plugin provider is notified that you have accessed the relevant subpage of our website. The following data are also transmitted: IP address, date and time of query, time difference between your time zone and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), content of your query (specific page), access status/HTTP status coach, quantity of data transmitted in each case, the website from which the request was submitted, browser, operating system (OS) and interface, and the language and version of your browser software. In the case of Facebook and Xing, the providers have indicated that IP addresses are only to be collected in anonymous form in Germany. This takes place regardless of whether you have an account with the specific plugin provider or are logged in there. If you are logged in with the plugin provider, these data are associated directly with your account. If you click the activated button and link to the page, for example, the plugin provider also saves this information to your user account and shares this publicly with your contacts. If you do not wish this information to be associated with your profile with the plugin provider, you need to log out before activating the button.
c) The plugin provider stores these data as use profiles and uses them for purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-driven design of its site. This kind of analysis also takes place, in particular, for users who are not logged in; this is done in order to present demand-driven advertising and inform other users of the social network of your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the formation of these user profiles. To exercise this right, you need to contact the respective plugin providers.
